The story of two homeless men from Manchester, who are now the new heroes

Manchester just went through another darkest hour in their history, when it witnessed the deadliest terrorist attack more than a decade. It was a normal day like any other in the Manchester Arena which was the host for another event in the town and gathered all the known celebrities from around the country.

Within the crowd, two homeless men named Chris Parker and Stephan Jones thought it to be the best place to gather some money and food for the living and to sleep for a night.

Everything was going normally as decided when suddenly a bomb was exploded within the arena which turned the live show into the horror. There was no sudden help but noticed by these two men who tried to help the victims. Mr. Parker was outside the arena and knocked down to the ground with the explosion and made him confused about the situation.

In all the smoke and rush, he saw a girl who was helpless in between the crowd who lost her legs due to the explosion. He took off his t-shirt and wrapped it around the girl.

Mr. Jones, 35, says he pulled nails out of children’s arms and faces. “Just because I am homeless doesn’t mean I haven’t got a heart, or I’m not human still,” he told ITV News. “I’d like to think someone would come and help me if I needed the help,” he said, adding that he had been overcome by an “instinct” to pitch in. “It was children,” he continued. “It was a lot of children with blood all over them and crying and screaming.”

He also tried to help an old woman who had head and leg injury but during the struggle, she died in her arms and it changed the overall emotions of him. She was in 60’s and was at the concert with her kids who were not near her during the dying moments.

Manchester learned about the actions which were performed by these homeless men and an online fundraising page was set up for Mr. Parker and raised almost $40,000 and another one for Mr. Jones on the JustGiving site.

The story took another turn after the publication of the story of these heroes on social media as there is a woman who is now claiming to be the mother of Mr. Parker. She stated that “This is my son and I am desperate to get in touch with him,” she wrote on the fund-raising page. “We have been estranged for a very long time, and I had no idea he was homeless. I am very proud of him, and I think he might need me right now.”
