Magic mushrooms, scientifically known as “Psilocybe cubensis” are generally brown and white in color. Once the scientific name is translated, it is also called bald head mushrooms. The reason why it is known to the world is due to the presence of “Psilocybin and Psilocin” which causes hallucinations, and other trippy symptoms.
It is also used in religious ceremonies and now a part of the black market in drugs in the United States and other countries. It is magical as most of the drugs which are rich in psilocybin give mind-melting feeling but magical mushroom boost up the brain connectivity and allows it to work in the most extraordinary ways.
There have been studies which proved that these mushrooms can actually help the patients who are suffering from cancer to overcome their anxiety and depression which are the main symptoms of the condition. As it is often used as a drug, most of us will ask about the complications that come with it.
Magic mushrooms can be risky and cause panic attacks or confusion, Adam Winstock, a consultant addiction psychiatrist and founder of the Global Drug Survey told the Guardian. “Combined use of alcohol and use within risky or unfamiliar settings increase the risks of harm most commonly accidental injury, panic and short-lived confusion, disorientation, and fears of losing one’s mind,” Winstock told the Guardian.
There is another case in which the tourist was over-dosed with the drug as he consumed magic mushrooms with orange juice that disturbed the mental stability and forced him to jump-off from the fifth-floor balcony.
Reports and many others are against the use of the mushroom but studies are proving the facts that help in fighting severe depression and anxiety. There are a number of drugs available in the black market including LSD and users of LSD requires medical attention more often than the cases of magical mushrooms. It can be a gift from nature if it can be used in a certain way and help millions who are fighting against the deadly disease.
